Naturally, They Are Active

by Verna from Kansas

Before becoming a mother, the importance of keeping your child active did not cross my mind. Once I had my son, I realized that I wanted him to be able to be strong and alert.

I read books, I used the internet and I also asked close friends and family members what they did when their children were young. What I realized is that simplicity is best. Thinking of how to keep my son when he was an infant, and now my daughter who is an infant, active with their body is easy, because they do it daily and naturally. Playing simple games like peek-a-boo, waving their arms saying hi or goodbye, and tummy time are great activities to begin with. Waking up in the morning and doing stretches, kicking leg bath time, and learning body parts are all active play. If you are a stay-at-home mom or a mom on the go, you can do it, never doubt yourself.
