It's Spring! Make some plans. . .

by Lia

What plans do you have for your family to get moving and eat well?

Let's start with a light and flavorful spring dessert! The picture above is one of my new spring creations. I got the idea from a family friend who watches country singer Trisha Yearwood’s cooking show. The creation is banana pudding with nutty butter cookies as my banana pudding base instead of vanilla wafers. Yummy Right:) I like to switch it up when spring is in full effect and create fun and flavorful desserts to bring smiles to my kids’ faces.

Spring is also the time to walk to the park, stop by the Children's Museum, and spend more time at Farmers Markets throughout the city.

I am working on adding a garden in the backyard and planting fruits and vegetables to teach my kids how to garden.

Inflation is also a reason to start growing my own food and making preserves and jams in advance. In the long term, the garden will help me save for my kids’ future endeavors, be it college, car or an apartment or all three, and help my kids learn another life skill.
