While the rest of my peers seem to be making resolutions to reduce calories and start up weight loss and exercise plans out of the blue. . .
. . .I feel like a rusty old battle ax heading into the New Year with the same old, trusty destination: a balanced meal plan with plenty of fruits, veggies, whole grains and protein.
But isn’t that what it’s all about — eating healthy and modeling healthy habits for your children? A shiny, new year isn’t necessary to live your best life, nutritionally, of course.
Don’t forget that while you’re jumping on those unattainable band-wagons, your kiddos are watching. Let’s teach them to love their bodies and make good decisions regarding their health, no matter the month.
Luckily, for those of us with WIC benefits, many of the hard choices have been made for us already — regarding which food items are healthy; all we have to do is incorporate the ingredients into our lifestyle.
So, why not make your resolution to utilize all of your WIC benefits instead!?
Happy, healthy eating y’all.
