What we are looking for:
We are looking for short (500 words or less) guest posts from WIC participants on the following topics:
1. Feeding your 1-year-old (Submit by April 5 or before)
Tell us about your experience feeding your 1-year-old. What challenges did you face? What discoveries did you make? Share your tips and tricks for helping a 1-year-old grow up with great nutrition.
2. Maximizing food dollars (Submit by April 15 or before)
How do you stretch your food budget? How do you save money while still providing nutritious food for your family? Do you use coupons? Do you meal plan? Share your story!
3. Eat Well For a Healthy Pregnancy (Submit by April 30 or before)
How did you eat healthy during your pregnancy? What tips and tricks would you share with other WIC parents who are currently pregnant? Why does nutrition matter to you during pregnancy? Share any stories related to nutrition and pregnancy.
4. Two Minutes Two Times A Day for a Healthy Smile (Submit by May 15 or before)
Experts recommend that parents brush their children's teeth two times a day for two minutes each time. Do you follow this recommendation? What challenges have you faced on the road to sticking to this healthy habit? What toothbrushing and flossing tips do you have to share with other WIC parents?
To submit your post, simply write an email to wichealthblog@gmail.com and attach a Word Document with your post, or a link to a Google doc. Be sure to also include a short bio (about 3 sentences is fine) and a picture, if you would like to share one. You are also welcome to submit your own original photography to go with the post!
